Flooring
With a life-expectancy of well over a hundred years, Southern Yellow Pine floors are attractive and extremely durable. The golden-brown grain of this flooring adds warmth and light to any space. When purchasing natural pine flooring you’ll have the choice to stain the wood to your preference or finish with a varnish that brings out the pine’s natural coloring. Southern Yellow Pine is more sustainable than hardwood species due to the fact that it grows much faster than hardwoods. Thanks to its sustainability, Southern Yellow Pine is a cost-effective alternative, costing around half as much as slower-growing hardwoods.
Flooring We Carry
Most flooring is created with a stress-relieving pattern on the underside. This pattern alleviates the risk of moisture-related dimensional changes such as cupping. Hollow back flooring has a large wide groove carved out on the underside and Kerf back has a series of grooves both serving the purpose of keeping boards flat over time and allowing ample amount of air flow throughout. What’s on the back matters
Most people never flip a floorboard over — but they should. All of our flooring is milled with a stress-relieving pattern on the underside that helps keep boards flat over time and allows air to circulate underneath. We carry two types: Hollow Back and Kerf Back.
